Accounts Assistant

Reporting to the Finance Manager the successful candidate should have 1 to 2 years experience in the insurance sector. With 12 staff in their finance function there is plenty of scope for progression and the successful candidate will be career driven and have the energy and enthusiasm to grow and develop in the role

Principal Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable and Receivable
• Company reconciliation (receiving monthly statements and organizing payments for insurance clients)
• Dealing with internal queries (cooperation with underwriters)
• Dealing with external queries (cooperation with Irish & English insurance companies in relation to clients accounts)
• Receiving payments from Premium Credit
• Posting clients journals (refund, unpaid cheques, commission)
• Getting companies payments and client refund cheques balanced for month end
• Posting transactions to accounts system (raising premiums, posting cash & cheques, accounts adjustments
• Viewing company's bank statements
• Viewing daily reports (audit trial, cash book, cash allocation report) and monthly reports (reconciliation account, stored reports).

Skills / Experience Required

• Insurance experience is essential
• Ideally studying towards professional qualification or intention to do so
• Experience in general accounting and control / reconciliation tasks.
• Flexible and adaptable team player
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Strong control mentality with a solid understanding of IT and non-IT process flows.
• Strong awareness of multi-currency issues

• Basic salary of €30,000 - €35,000
