Your duties of the role will include assisting with:

  • Maintenance of appropriate accounting records which give an accurate picture of the financial position of the Company at any given time and which comply with statutory requirements, accounting standards and industry best practice.
  • Assisting in the production of forward looking, timely and insightful management information that succinctly enables decision making.
  • Providing other support to the Management Accounting team as required including assisting with answering adhoc queries, variance analysis, business planning (budgeting and forecasting), and external audit preparation.
  • In conjunction with the Management Accounting Team Leader, provide management accounting support to the smaller FCA divisions and assist in the resolution of relevant business queries in a timely manner as and when required.
  • Working with the Accounting Systems Team to ensure all standard management accounting templates and reports are running correctly.
  • Working in harmony with Finance and wider business colleagues to pursue a continuous improvement agenda, both with business processes and personal development.
  • Supporting the Management Accounting Team Leader in the delivery of the team's first line of defence activities, ensuring process maps are up to date and controls are well documented and fit for purpose.

Your background is likely to be:

  • Skills required for this position include Excel to an advanced working knowledge (V Lookups and Pivot Tables as a minimum)
  • Have a minimum of 1 year's experience assisting with the management accounts (ideally within the financial services)
  • Have a minimum of 2:1 degree in Accounting (or equivalent knowledge)
  • Currently studying towards an accounting qualification (CIMA/ACCA)
  • Have strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Have strong numerical and problem solving skills
  • Experience of producing management accounts
