An urgent requirement for a Business Analyst has become available within a key Commercial Banking project at a leading Global Banking organisation. The objective of the project is to improve the efficiency and management of the function whilst driving key benefits in architecture rationalisation and relationship manager productivity.
The purpose of the role will be to collate and own, under direction, all aspects of the programme scope in regards to the management of requirements and provide technical insight with respect to technical design, development, integration, infrastructure and testing of the Portfolio Risk Management and Reporting System.
Key activities will include:
- Assist on user requirement specifications and provide technical insight to the business on design, development, implementation and maintenance of various global tools
- Perform feasibility study and risk analysis to assist the capability in delivering effective IT solutions
- Maintain close dialogue with solution architect and IT development teams to ensure that the proposed IT solution fulfils the requirements and take ownership of solution proposal
- Maintain close communication with IT development teams and business stakeholders during development phase and provide support on requirement clarification/fine-tuning
- Collaborate with testing team to ensure proper understanding of requirements for the creation of test strategy and test cases and provide support during IT System test
- Maintain solution scope and requirements through proper change management process, and liaise with stakeholders on change request prioritisation
- Work alongside the business to understand their key drivers and metrics to better assess the potential for IT solutions or changes to enhance the business and advise relevant IT teams of the potential for future projects
- Liaise with other Programmes and Projects across the portfolio to ensure alignment of requirements and solutions
- Respond promptly to any queries and issues raised by the Principal Relationship Manager and/or their business partners
- Maintain full and up-to-date understanding of the business strategy, current practices and system capabilities
- Keep up-to-date knowledge of business operating model, internal IT strategy, external market conditions and IT architecture direction on supporting system and various global tools
- Communicate effectively with external and internal project stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with all relevant internal instructions, internal control standards and external regulatory requirements, including the management of operational risk and adherence to the banks standards of ethical behaviour
The Business Analyst will require the following skill set prior to coming on board:
- Business Analysis experience gained within a banking environment (ideally commercial banking)
- Hands-on experience on process design, document processing
- Experience on managing multiple business stakeholders independently
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, presentation, negotiation and written and verbal communication skills.
- Commercial acumen, strong business sense and ability to understand business requirements
- Flexible to work with people with different time-zones and be able to bridge the gaps between different parties and articulate ideas clearly and concisely
- Able to work effectively with teams in multiple locations / countries and lead global projects
- Highly-motivated and able to work independently, under pressure and proactively in a fast paced environment with multiple deadlines
- With a positive, proactive and can-do attitude
- Self-initiative in looking for solutions to problems
