CFO

Marks Sattin have been retained to secure a CFO for a boutique insurance organisation Head Quartered here in Dublin. The CFO will report directly to the Chief Executive and have an active involvement in the following areas: Financial Control, Administration, Business Control, Business Development, Compliance and Risk. The successful candidate will be required to have a wealth of experience in the insurance sector.

This position is one of considerable visibility within the organisation and is seen by our client as integral to the development of their global business. The role offers a broad range of responsibility giving the successful candidate an excellent opportunity to further develop their experience to date. It is a stand alone finance role and the primary responsibility will be to oversee all finance matters for the organisation. The CFO is obliged to protect the company's financial records and support the company's ability to achieve its financial, business and strategic goals.

The Central Bank's pre approval is a requirement for this position.

Key Deliverables:

• Oversee all financial matters for the organisation
• Prepare statutory accounts and returns to regulatory bodies
• Maintain and improve accounting controls and systems
• Manage company's outsourced internal audit function
• Attend Audit Committee meetings and support Committee in meeting preparation
• Liaise with the company's Bankers, Auditors and Tax Advisers in Ireland
• Treasury management and tax computations
• Supervise the outsourced payroll function
• Maintain cash and bank account procedures
• Review accounts prepared on a monthly basis
• Prepare budgets and manage control systems
• Develop budget and manage information systems
• Monitor development of key ratios and measures
• Evaluation of pricing issues to support the Investment, Product and Sales departments
• Assist in the development of new products and new markets
• Formulate and present solutions to financial and administration issues
• Present results and business plans to the Management Group and Board of Directors.
• Participate in industry meetings
• Prepare annual returns for the Companies Registration Office
• Assist with development of compliance procedures regarding Irish regulations
• Assist in the establishment of risk and compliance procedures in conjunction with Group policy

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified Accountant - minimum 5 years PQE
• 5-10 years experience in the insurance industry
• Strong knowledge of Irish financial regulations
• Personal interest in the financial markets
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a small team
• Proven knowledge of and ability to implement best practice
