Compliance Officer

My client, a well recognised international reinsurer is currently recruiting for a Compliance Officer in their Dublin office. The job requires a mature and experienced individual who is able to demonstrate the ability to engage with all aspects of Compliance. This position is part of their strategic plans for expanding and further developing their compliance department here in Ireland and will reporting directly to the MD and CEO.

The areas of responsibility include but will not be limited to the following:

• Main point of contact for the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI)
• Support the MD and General Manager in respect of CBI inspections
• Keep up to date with new regulatory Consultation Papers
• Working with the CFO to ensure all regulatory filings are completed on time
• Interact with DIMA and attend DIMA meetings
• Working closely with the MD and Board of Directors on SII project
• Annual filings to the Companies Registration Office (CRO)
• Present the compliance and regulatory log to the Board of Directors on a quarterly basis
• Prepare and update as necessary the Company Compliance Manual
• Ensure adequate Compliance training is in place for staff
• Ensure complaint with any Data Protections legislation
• Oversee approved person applications to CBI
• Carry out due diligence checks on new clients/brokers
• Ensure local documentation is accurate and up to date

Key Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years Compliance experience preferably within the reinsurance sector
• Professional Qualification desirable eg ACOI
• Broad understanding of European Regulations / Irish Legislation
• Knowledge of the marketplace and is informed on general economic issues.
• Strong commitment to delivering results
• Experience in completing compliance reviews
• Ability to complete reports to a standard that can be delivered to the MD and CEO

Package Details:

• Negotiable salary circa €80,000 - €90,000
