An interesting opportunity has arisen within a well-established, vibrant retail organisation for a Newly Qualified Financial Accountant. Reporting directly in to the group Financial Controller; this role will be Manchester City centre based and will give the successful candidate great commercial exposure at a senior level. Responsibilities of the role will include, but will not be limited to:

-Preparation of monthly P&L and BS for review by the Finance Manager and Financial Controller, including calculation of required provisions and accruals.
-Monthly commentary on P&L for review by the Finance Manager and Financial Controller.
-Liaison with the operational teams to ensure accurate revenue recognition and appropriate provisions.
-Liaison with the management accountant to receive data required for revenue recognition and provisions.
-Review of MI pack with Finance Manager, Financial Controller, Management Accountant and Operations Manager to ensure monthly actuals are understood and feed through to provisions where required.
-Responsible, through management of the Assistant Accountant, for weekly payments in line with payment terms.
-Responsible, through management of the Assistant Accountant and liaising with the Management Accountant, for ensuring that short-term and long-term cash flow forecasts are prepared and provided to the Group Treasurer on a weekly basis, with full analysis of variances.
-Preparation of calculations and analysis required to support the year-end audit file notes.
-Liaison with auditors at year-end.
-Preparation of financial statements.
-Responsible for production of annual budget and forecast.
-Responsible for production of sales reports for commercial team.

The ideal candidate for this role will be a newly qualified Accountant with a practice background (preferably Big 4), looking to make a move in to industry. The successful individual will be ambitious and career driven, and will be able to cope with partnering with both financial and non-financial members of staff at a senior level.
