A well established Legal firm, based in Lancashire, are looking to expand their finance division in the form of a newly-qualified/finalist management accountant. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance this role is an ideal move for someone to who is looking to further their career and have a genuine impact on the company that they are working for.
Key responsibilities for the role:
-Manage credit controller and finance accounts assistant in the performance of their daily duties including measurement of KPI's, training and development of staff.
-Manage the department's workflow through effective delegation of tasks.
-Update and maintain the credit control procedures around the firm.
-Produce monthly accounts and annual management figures in line with UK GAAP (including reconciliation of balance sheet).
-Supporting the FD budget forecasting and departmental profit and loss accounts.
-Reviewing the purchase ledger payments and supplier statements.
-Production of VAT return.
-Posting payroll and PAYE information.
-Maintenance of the authority matrix (i.e. bank mandate).
-Improve and maintain the current expenses procedure.
-Review all journal postings (within certain limits).
-Roll out and implementation of internal audit of SRA rules.
-Maintenance of the online MI in conjunction with IT team.
-Lead the financial audit process with our auditors.

The ideal applicant will be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified (or a Finalist), and probably looking to make their first move post-qualification. Although previous experience within a legal environment is desirable it is not essential. Any auditing experience would also be a strong advantage, and strong Excel skills (including pivot tables, vlookups, conditional formatting) are a must.
