Internal Audit Manager

Our client, a leading multinational organisation are actively recruiting for a Senior Audit Professional to conduct audit reviews in their European region. Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit Europe, this role will support and manage my clients Audit function across Ireland, the UK and Europe. Principal Accountabilities:

• Participate in the detailed planning of individual audit engagement
• Communicate audit issues and work with management to formulate appropriate action plans
• Oversee the final preparation of professional, senior level audit reports
• Serve as a project leader on standard audits, a senior auditor on a large-scale project, or potentially conduct complex audits independently
• Provide technical expertise and advice to assist with the planning, execution and reporting of a major audit study.
• Consult with clients in developing action plans to resolve control issues or risks
• Prepare reports of audit findings for business managers, and proposes recommendations for changes as needed
• Audit reviews may be conducted in specialized areas, such as insurance, financial products and services, investment portfolios, actuarial, or international operations, requiring specific knowledge pertaining to policies or regulations governing areas being audited
• Review business processes and financial practices enterprise-wide to ensure compliance with best practices, procedural efficiency, accuracy and compliance to regulatory standards to avoid negative publicity and regulatory fines
• Handle the resolution of open audit and risk issues with management using effective stakeholder management
• Communicate findings and develop resolutions with audit management and business client.
• Participate in and/or manage projects, completing assigned tasks and responsibilities within the assigned budget and timeline, and explaining variances
• Maintain a positive working relationship with auditees and stakeholders
• Assist Head of Internal Audit in preparing presentations and reports
• Serve as a liaison to external auditors
• Perform other related duties as assigned or required by Head of Internal Audit

Candidate Prerequisites:

• Minimum 4/5 years experience in a internal audit capacity or senior level experience within external audit
• Intermediate level understanding of Generally Accepted Audit Standards, IIA standards, accounting and auditing sampling and testing methodologies, and risk management
• Experienced in audit planning, execution and reporting skills
• Experience with preparing and presenting reports for management
• Excellent documentation, analytical and problem solving skills
• Good interpersonal skills to deal with all levels of staff
• Membership of IIA favourably considered

Package:

• 80k-90k basic salary depending on the individuals experience to date
• 20% Annual bonus, 10% Pension
