We have been instructed by a hugely impressive SME client, a Yorkshire success story and SME working in a niche Technology sector. The role is for a Company Accountant who will take the lead in running the day to day finance operation for the company, supported by a Portfolio Finance Director who is available to the business a few days per month.

As a business while the main focus of this role is the UK they have looked into potential opportunities in Europe, for example they are currently working on a significant pitch for a contract based in Europe which could open up new market opportunities.

The role gives you a good blend of everything and as such suits someone who have an interest in such a role and not have a focus in one part of finance eg commercial OR reporting. The company have gone through exceptional growth over recent years, and while there is a period of part-consolidation to support existing customers and embed some major contracts abroad, there is scope to grow through developing new products and entering new markets with their product(s) offering. The role requires a qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) who has worked in a similar company accountant / finance manager / financial controller level for a small to medium sized company. Sector experience is not important, the willingness and ability to do all aspects of a role within a finance function (Reporting, analysis, management accounts, financial reporting, company secretarial, statutory accounting, general/ledger, month end/year end etc)

You are also safe in the knowledge that they are owned by a huge listed business, who are hugely supportive and will give a lot of autonomy to the UK business. As your contact with the FD wont be day to day at work it requires someone who is a self starter and can work on their own initiative and with minimal supervision.
