A major Energy Trading Company based in Canary Wharf is looking to strengthen their Shipping Division by bringing on an experienced Account Opening Analyst for a 6 month contract.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct due diligence on Freight/Shipping Counterparties, Associated Parties, Port Agents, Brokers, Ship to Ship (STS) providers and Vessels
  • Perform continuous improvement efforts aimed at increasing efficiency in the shipping due diligence process
  • Attend meetings with members of the operations, chartering and other business teams and communicate all matters related to the Account Opening Team.
  • Develop a robust compliance framework within the organisation.

To be considered you must have significant experience of working in a KYC/AML function with a client service orientation, ideally within a financial services or commodities trading business focussing on shipping. Strong UK and international KYC/AML knowledge and experience is required. An understanding of rules and regulations such as FSA regulations, Anti Money Laundering, UK Bribery Act will also be valuable. Excellent analytical, process and project management skills with an eye for detail is also required.
