As a manager within the Controllership Finance function, you will combine your technical knowledge with coaching, communication, presentation, prioritisation and influencing skills to ensure that a strong control environment is maintained and help Asda to meet its objectives.

This role will involve:

• Leading a number of cross functional accounting projects, including ensuring readiness for new lease accounting guidance
• Managing the accounting processes around Fixed Assets and Property Costs and implementing continuous improvement to enhance the control environment
• Providing analytical review of financial performance in the Property areas
• Understanding and managing accounting risk within Fixed Assets including impairment reviews and review of new store programme
• Communicating complex accounting concepts and impacts in an easy to understand manner to senior stakeholders
• Line management and talent development responsibilities
• Working with the management team in Controllership Finance to drive performance and culture

Requirements:

ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification

Strong academic background

Coaching and influencing skills

Great analytical, communication and judgement skills

Confidence liaising with people at all levels
