Marks Sattin are currently working with a client based in the centre of Reading Town Centre who are recruiting for a Finance Assistant who has relevant experience of Accounts Payable or is currently studying CIMA / ACCA.

The role would suit someone who has plenty of energy and can absorb quickly, who is a hungry to learn and who doesn't mind being proactive.

They will be part of a small team and will report directly to the Finance Manager.

It will be key to have experience of the key functions of Sage line 50 and Excel.The most important attribute is consistent and attention to detail.

The role of Finance Assistant role will also encompass some key areas of Management Accounts and Financial Control.

The duties include:

• Main point of contact for all telephone queries, and dealing with post and stationery
• Main point of contact for all sites for any queries.
• Email queries including managing Accounts Email inbox
• Managing the bank admin and intercompany transfers
• Bank Reconciliation's
• Processing invoices onto Sage
• Processing Procure invoices onto Sage (specific training will be given)
• Dealing with Procure queries (purchase order system)
• Processing Expenses
• Preparing and making Supplier Payments
• Sending Remittances
• Supplier Statements Reconciliation
• Processing sites Petty Cash
• Process recharges and intercompany transactions
• Preparing payroll upload bacs ready for importing to the bank.
• Preparing Weekly Sales Report
• Monthly Budget Phasing for sites
• Assistance with Weekly Sales Journals
• Month end Prepayments Journals
• Maintenance of Prepayments Schedule
• Assistance with VAT Return (correcting mis-postings and checks)
• Adhoc queries
