My client, a leading research company based just outside of Oxford, are actively recruiting for an experienced Account Assistant. The successful candidate will join a small team of motivated, spirited individuals, with a fantastic, social culture and will be tasked with aiding the continued success of the finance department.

The Role: As an Accounts Assistant, you will cover a variety of roles including the processing of purchase and sales transactions, reconciling bank and statement accounts as well as aiding the preparation of quarterly reports.

Responsibilities:

• Processing of sales & purchase invoices onto system, ensuring correct coding
• Reconciling bank statements on a weekly & monthly basis
• Assisting the preparation of quarterly reports
• P&L Management
• Preparation of weekly payment runs
• Communicating with suppliers and customers, minimising invoice queries to ensure timely payments
• AR and Credit Control duties, including debt collection
• Other ad-hoc finance duties when requested

The Candidate:

• Minimum of 1 year working in accounts
• Part AAT qualified or equivalent would be desirable
• Good skills on MS Office in particular Excel
• Excellent interpersonal skills, able to communicate with variety of customers & suppliers
• Ability to work both independently and within a small team
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Must be able to work full time hours (37.5 per week)
