An extremely well respected Top 20 firm of Chartered Accountants are currently looking to recruit an Accounts Manager into their Business Services Division. (BS) is a growing team with dynamic clients which spans a broad range of business sectors including mining, pharmaceutical and tech companies. The Division provides audit and transaction services to mid-tier corporate clients within the SME sector including listed companies. In addition, this Division also has responsibility special assignments such as risk management, forensic accounting and due diligence.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Liaising with clients (phone, email and face-to-face meetings) from planning to completion stage, requesting documents and resolving queries;
  • Preparation of detailed advice for clients focusing on practical solutions;
  • Reviewing of year end and compliance work to ensure that jobs are being completed in a respectable time frame;
  • Managing a portfolio of 70 clients across various sectors;
  • The role has a focus on Statutory Accounts and Trust Accounts preparation;
  • Training and supervising junior members of staff in relation to processing systems, preparation of financial statements, and general accounting processes and procedures;
  • Holding appraisals of junior members of staff;
  • Heading up our training programs for raw juniors, including checklist of minimum requirements for accounts preparation pro-audit files, and attending training programmes to assist and teach juniors PKF systems and procedures after initial training;
  • Formulation of new accounts preparation Pro-Audit procedure and pack;
  • Creating electronic work papers for P11D assignments;
  • Creating electronic work papers for Trust Account assignments; and
  • Contributing to our work experience program for school aged work experience students to show overview of how an accounts preparation assignment is completed.

Person Specification

  • Accountancy training;
  • ACCA or ACA, or equivalent, qualified;
  • Experience using MYOB, Quickbooks, Pro Audit, Caseware, and CCH.
  • Proven skills in managing a portfolio of clients; and
  • Substantial external commercial auditing experience including public company listed audits.
