As a finance officer you will be responsible:

• Manage the income & cash handling functions of the organisation to ensure that income is received and processed in a timely manner
• Manage relevant financial data, ensuring it is accurate and the service provided to other departments is of a high standard
• Lead, motivate and develop team members
• Develop and manage SMART goals, report against progress and encourage team and individual objectives are met
• Provide guidance to junior staff members where necessary
• Oversight of cash advances system across the organisation
• Ensure Donations information as recorded in Raisers Edge is accurate and reconciles to donation income as recorded in Agresso
• Identify errors and inconsistencies in General Ledger data and prepare correcting journals
• Ensure regular ledger maintenance is performed
• Ensure compliance with processes and controls in areas of responsibility
• Prepare the Inputs and Outputs analysis for the BM quarterly VAT return
• Supervise the preparation of monthly VAT submissions for all entities
• Evaluate and recommend ways to improve procedures, processes and controls to line manager and other team members
• Implement and maintain agreed procedures and controls
• To have a part ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification
• Previous experience of accounting processes and procedures
• Excellent organisation skills
• The ability the work on your own initiative
