As an Assistant Accountant, you will take ownership of balance sheet reconciliations and generate accruals, prepayments and adjustment journals. Working with speed and accuracy, you will also identify risks, provide detailed analysis of overhead expenditure and use variance analysis and trending techniques to measure cost accounts.

This is a highly varied role that will also involve producing financial reports and commentary to help the business hit their targets, manage their budgets and make the right decisions for future growth.

The ideal candidate

As well as working towards a professional qualification such as CIMA, ACCA or AAT, you should:

• Have relevant accounting experience gained in a fast-paced environment
• Have an eye for detail and excellent analytical, numerical and communication skills
• Be persistent, self-motivated and passionate about providing a responsive service
• Have a good understanding of Excel
• Have the desire to progress within a household name business over the next 3-5 years
