Bookkeeper

Salary: £16,000 - £20,000

Location: Manchester City Centre

Hours: 9:00 - 5:30 (flexi time available)

A specialist accounting practice based in the City Centre Manchester is looking for a Bookkeeper to join there continuously growing team. The bookkeeper will be responsible for assisting clients with services remotely from the office or by visiting the client on premises to ensure that the clients' books are maintained and up to date.

Key Responsibilities

• Raising sales invoices and emailing to Customers via Xero software
• Maintaining purchase ledger and managing supplier payments.

• Handling staff expense claims by ensuring that these are approved by the appropriate manager
• Providing support to Client Managers by keeping everything up to date and ensuring that all month/year end Balance Sheet items are fully explained and justified

• Bank reconciliation in Xero
• Ad hoc credit control duties when required

The successful candidate will need to have:

• Qualified or part-qualified bookkeeper
• Previous experience working in a bookkeeping role
• Exposure to cloud accounting software would be beneficial
• Interpersonal relationship skills
• Effective time management skills
• Resilient when faced with challenging situations
• Able to adapt to changes in systems and technology
