Start your job searchThe Operational Commercial Finance team supports the operational functions of the business, that's over 600 stores, 35 logistics centres and a network of online grocery hubs. Our role is to business partner the various functions and to provide insightful commercial analysis and support. The team plays a key role in ensuring we hold leadership accountable for the operational plan, through focused cost control and efficiency driving initiatives. The team are also responsible for ensuring plan equity, driving improvements in store profitability, providing support for new projects/innovations and delivering the long term plan. The vacancy is in our Commercial Analysis team would suit a part/newly qualified accountant where you will play a key role in delivering and supporting insightful analysis across the Operational business areas whilst gaining invaluable experience for use in your future career.
The Ins and Outs;
- You'll be analysing and presenting on different topics each month so an ability to learn quickly and being open to change is vital.
- Using analytical skills to identify opportunities and give recommendations to improve efficiency and profitability.
- You will be responsible for the manipulation and control of store planning systems to ensure business units are challenged appropriately.
- Forums with senior leaders to help drive actions across the business.
- You will see real tangible actions being taken off the back of your work.
What you'll need;
- Be keen to learn how to analyse data sets to pull out what's really going on behind the numbers
- A strong desire to develop analytical, financial and communication skills
- Logical approach to problem solving
- Confident and pro-active with the ability to question the status quo
- Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
