About the role;

The ALS Finance team business partners the Asda Logistics Services team to provide commercial analysis and support.

The team plays a key role in ensuring we deliver the company plan, through focused cost control and holding teams to account on LCOM and Revenue Generating initiatives.

The vacancy is commercial finance support for the Central ALS Team, based in Asda House. This is a varied role and to be successful you will need to build strong relationships with the 3 Senior Directors and the wider teams you will be supporting.

You will be responsible for understanding and driving improvements in the commercial performance, stimulating strategic decision making, driving financial discipline, processes and accountability and supporting the LCOM program.

The main responsibilities include:

• Driving delivery of the 2017 plan in partnership with the SDs
• Providing guidance to help mitigate risks and capitalise on opportunities
• Interpreting and communicating trends within financial data
• Strengthen performance management across the ALS P&L through improved Forecast accuracy
• Ownership of the 3Yr and 1Yr ALS Plan Process
• Finance representative in Union Pay and Policy Negotiations

Key Attributes:

• Qualified accountant - ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification required
• Experience in influencing commercial agenda and decision making
• Ability to build and maintain exceptional customer relationships
• Confident and pro-active with the ability to challenge and influence at a senior level
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Good commercial awareness
