The Food Trading & Marketing team business partners the various functions within Trading and Marketing to provide commercial analysis and support.
The team plays a key role in ensuring we deliver the company plan, through detailed category analysis, focused cost control and holding teams to account on Sales, GP, Marketing costs, Inventory, Waste, Working capital and Cost of goods sold (COGS)/ WO4L initiatives.
The vacancy is in the Supply, COGs, Merchandising and Trading Strategy finance team as commercial finance support for the Commercial Execution and Supply teams.
This is a varied role that supports the Trading, Commercial Execution and Supply teams and to be successful you will need to build strong relationships with the teams you will be supporting.
You will be responsible for understanding and driving improvements in the commercial performance, stimulating strategic decision making, driving financial discipline, processes and accountability and supporting the relevant business priorities: Always Available and COGS.
The main responsibilities include:
- Driving delivery of the 2017 plan in partnership with the VP & SDs
- Providing guidance to help mitigate risks and capitalise on opportunities
- Interpreting and communicating trends within financial data
- Identifying opportunities to improve sales/profitability/availability
- Strengthen performance management across the supply KRAs, cost lines and balance sheet through improved Forecast accuracy & planning
- Always Available - Drive setting measures of success and reporting progress against each. Providing commercial analysis for each of the work streams to drive decisions and action.
- COGS - Supporting the COGs programme, working with the Supply and Packaging teams to support identifying and capturing cost savings.
- Support link between trading, central execution and supply to deliver the plan.
