Start your job searchI am working with a Client in York, to appoint a Corporate Accountant to join this friendly, supportive team.
The business is growing extremeley rapidly and this is a very exciting time to join a successful business near the start of it's journey.
- Responsible for
- Preparing monthly financial information including management accounts for the Head Office, consolidation of management accounts and analysis of the Balance Sheet for the Group
- Providing analysis of spend for budget holders and the Group on a monthly and ad-hoc basis
- Work closely with the Integration and Acquisition teams on the financial accounting for acquisitions to the Group, including the review and preparation of Statutory Accounts and verifying balances on the acquisition Balance Sheets
- Processing requests for capital expenditure across the group and maintaining analysis of spend versus forecast for capital projects.
- Delivery of ad-hoc financial and business projects as agreed with the Group Financial Controller
- Ensure that all internal financial reporting deadlines are met and that the reporting framework continues to meet the needs of the business, implementing change in agreement with the Group Financial Controller where necessary
- Preparation of accurate and complete Management Accounts and Stakeholder Reporting Packs including full balance sheet, cash flow statement and intercompany balances reconciliation within 12 working days of each month end for review and approval by the Group Accountant and Group Financial Controller
- Manage and co-ordinate the intercompany matrix, ensuring that balances are all reconciled and cleared down in a timely manner
- Ensure ongoing compliance with all finance orientated legal and fiscal obligations for all Group companies
- Working alongside the Acquisition and Integration teams to accurately account for the acquisition of new Practices and liaise with the Regional Financial Controllers to integrate these businesses in to our accounting system and management reporting
- Maintain the capital expenditure log, processing requests and approvals for capital expenditure across the business.
- Ensure that all capital expenditure has been approved by the relevant individuals before costs are incurred.
- Support the Group Accountant in identifying and implementing opportunities for business improvement initiatives within the Finance Department
- Providing additional financial information to the business as needed and completing ad-hoc financial and business projects as agreed with the Group Accountant or Group Financial Controller
- Any other task, consistent with the position of Corporate Accountant, as required by the Group Financial Controller or Group Accountant

- Qualified OR Part Qualified Accountant with a strong financial accounting background
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Ability to communicate confidently with people at all levels
- Able to prioritise work based on deadlines and importance
- A proven problem solver - proactive in identifying financial issues, recommending solutions and in implementing agreed recommendations
