Marks Sattin are currently working with a Leeds based Logistics company to assist with the recruitment of a Data Analyst.

In this role you will be responsible for the management / development of the existing analytical software packages.

The role is responsible for providing appropriate outputs in a usable agreed format. The ability to challenge the status quo supported by appropriate data is essential. The key element of the role is analysis of commercial customer related data derived from the company's actual commercial performance.

Responsibilities;

  • Managing and developing the existing software reporting in place.
  • Develop a suite of business critical KPIs to monitor customer performance
  • Use benchmarking to identify performance trends and quantify the differentials
  • Calculate the financial impact of good/poor operational performance
  • Working with sales to provide rating information on potential and existing clients
  • Use of the CRM to provide accurate pipeline status and customer contact information
  • Produce profit and loss accounts for individual customers and recommend how margins could be enhanced
  • Report the performance of specific networks and opportunities to drive improvements
  • Understand and report the impact of increased network costs
  • Business intelligence-understand competitor strengths and weaknesses and recommend commercial strategies as how competitiveness can be improved
  • Ensure data gathering reporting is appropriate to the needs of the business
  • Support acquisition/opportunity strategy through appropriate analytics
  • Work with finance on the budget/forecasting process
  • Help support capital appraisal projects
  • Liaise with IT to deliver more efficient solutions
  • Ad hoc project work as requested by senior managers/directors

Skills;

  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and analytical software packages
  • Hands on experience with statistical analysis - customer/quality focused
  • Outstanding presentation, reporting and communication skills
  • Solid commercial awareness including external competitors
  • Inquisitive agile mind able to absorb and apply information
  • Ability to work to prioritise and deliver results in agreed formats
  • Able to communicate verbally and written from operational to director level.
