Database / SQL Developer - Fintech - up to £70k

An established Fintech based in central London is looking to hire an expert SQL / Database Developer with financial services / banking experience to join its high-performance team of engineers within its growing data team.

The main remit of the role is to design and develop structured and flexible data systems to drive the firm's platform offering, while offering application level flexibility. The main focus will be on Postgres however other storage mechanisms are being utilised.

Whilst the role is office based, the individual will be remote / home-based during current restrictions.

Skills Required

• Strong database and SQL development skills
• Experience of building financial services databases
• Experience within financial services is essential, retail banking preferred
• Experience of using PostgreSQL ideal but not essential - similar RDBMS flavours would also work
• Experience of developing and deploying low latency, scalable and high-performance databases
• Familiar with unit testing, AWS, CI tools and GIT
• Strong drive to create readable, testable and maintainable code
• The ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Data modelling
