A client based in Leeds City Centre, is looking for their new Accounts Assistant/Assistant Accountant

I am looking for someone experienced, maybe part qual, maybe Qualified By Experience, who would love to work for a successful rapidly growing business, well known across the whole UK!

If you would like to work for a nationally recognised business, in a fast paced and supportive environment, I am looking for someone who is:

  • Part qualified accountant (possibly by experience), with experience of working within a finance team.
  • Numerically strong, with good excel skills.
  • Attention to detail, with good problem solving skills.
  • Has strong communication and prioritisation skills and can demonstrate ability to hit deadlines.
  • Be an ambassador of company values.
  • Can build effective relationships across range of business functions.

Duties:

  • Prepare month end journals to cover key areas of the business; including prepayments, accruals and other accounting entries.
  • Responsible for daily income reconciliation activities.
  • Reconciliation of certain other income streams, ensuring debt balance proactively managed.
  • Conducting balance sheet reconciliations to ensure appropriate controls maintained. Investigating any entries requiring further information.
  • Ensure capital project costs are effectively tracked for all projects, and reconcile these to fixed asset additions and any debtor accounts for LL contributions.
  • Liaise with Development team to ensure cost trackers are kept up to date and that goods are receipted properly.
  • Management of landlord contributions and Equipment supplier rebates, ensuring invoicing and accounting records kept up to date.
  • Support Commercial Finance colleagues with capital reporting and analysis.
  • Produce variety of reports to budget holders.
  • Assist with the production of budgets and forecasts.
  • Assist the team in delivering year end activities, providing support for auditors as requested.
  • Range of other ad-hoc duties.
