A highly regarded manufacturing business based in North Birmingham are looking for a recently qualified accountant / finalist (or QBE accountant) to join in a commercial finance anlalyst role supporting the wider finance team.

The company are looking for someone with a good understanding of manufacturing and inventory management, with strong excel and analytcial skills but it is not necessary to have extenisive prior commercial or FP&A experience, so long as you are keen to gain understanding and devlop these areas. This role presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant to make a move into a commercial finance team which will include a lot of opportunity for business partnering, within a business who have a strong track record of developing their talent. The company will train and support you in this position but also offer multiple routes for progression and development depending on your preferences and skillset.

This role will be working alongside the key senior stakeholders providing commercial business partnering support for the organisation. The scope of this role includes financial analysis, cost control, setting and monitoring the budget, providing insights into performance, identifying value creating opportunities, and providing challenge in order to support decision making. In addition you will be providing analytical support for the wider business.


Role

• Budgeting & forecasting: provide insight and analysis for the business for inclusion in the group budgeting and forecasting
• Preparation of management information for the business to assist with commercial decision making and drive performance as well as improving process by which this is produced
• Assist with and recommend any changes to process and systems to ensure the most effective working practices
• Monitor costs against budget for the business
• Provide any information needed to the group reporting team for inclusion in group reports
• Ad hoc analysis work e.g. to support transactions
