Finance Manager

• Reporting to Financial Controller & working closely with MD
• Salary: £50-60k plus bonus
• Location: Leeds / York area

Where this role sits:

UK Finance Manager for the UK businesses (c.90m turnover). The role reports into the Group Financial Controller and manages a small team of 1 direct report.

The role will also liaise closely with the MD and the rest of the senior leadership team.

What we are looking for:

We are looking for a dynamic, capable, and committed professional to join the team. The individual taking on this new role will manage a small team on a day-to-day basis, combining hands-on support for the accounting functions with strategic financial management, as well as providing input into developing and growing the business.

The role will be responsible for:

• Full team Oversight and Management
• Transactional Accounting - oversight of sales and purchase invoicing, including all accounting functions (Sales Ledger, Credit Control, Purchase Ledger, Expenses and Reconciliation)
• Compliance - being involved in the annual audit and in the annual statutory accounts as well as VAT return
• Cash & Banking - responsibility for banking systems and ensuring all appropriate controls are in place.
• Payroll - Work with HR Team ensuring that all staff are paid accurately and on time and that all payroll and pension filings are completed correctly

Skills and Knowledge:

• A qualified Accountant
• Proven experience working in a hands-on accountant position
• Proven experience as a Finance Manager or similar
• Ability to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate and efficient processes are being used/implemented
• Proficient in different finance and accounting systems
• Solid understanding and working knowledge of general accounting principles
• Enjoy being hands-on but also capable of stepping back and making strategic decisions
• Excellent attention to detail
• Calm influencer with strong leadership skills
