Finance Officer - Maternity Cover - Hedge Fund - up to £85k

Our client, a global macro hedge fund, is seeking an interim Finance Officer to support the finance team with accounting and tax requirements. The main responsibilities are to act in a corporate accounting role.

The role is a maternity cover position for 12 months fixed term contract and will start in January based in the West End- they will be looking to pay up to £85k for the successful candidate.

The responsibilities of the role include:

  • Prepare quarterly management reports.
  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns, corporation tax instalment calculations and other required tax returns.
  • Prepare transfer pricing calculations in accordance with the transfer pricing methodology.
  • Prepare FCA regulatory reports.
  • Prepare annual consolidated and company stand-alone statutory accounts.
  • Compile files for external auditors and tax advisors. Ensure that relevant documentation is current.
  • Support external auditors with annual audit
  • Adhoc project support
  • Oversight of day-to-day bookkeeping operations, including accounts payable, cash flow management and bank reconciliations.
  • Keep up to date with technical UK GAAP, corporation and employment tax developments and other relevant industry changes.
  • Ensure adequate and timely communication with management.

Essential requirements:

  • 5 years post-qualified experience
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA equivalent qualification
  • Strong team focus with a willingness to learn.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Diligent, proactive and uses initiative to prioritise work. Able to manage conflicting priorities and be flexible on timing as required by workload.
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels by building trust through consistent delivery, open and timely communication with senior management, peers and external parties.
  • Ability to anticipate potential problems and provide solutions in advance.
  • Current knowledge of personal and corporation tax rules.
  • Good IT skills - proficient in word and excel.
