A reputable well respected bank is looking for a driven, high calibre accountant to join their team as Financial Accountant. This is a brilliant opportunity to work for a well established firm with over 40 years experience in the market, really giving the right candidate the opportunity to advance and develop their skills. The successful candidate will be working with the firms financial control team and report to the financial controller.

Responsibilities Include:

• Preparing the annual statutory accounts, including preparing key financial statement disclosures such as the risk, taxation and financial instrument disclosures
• Contributing to the month end close process
• Preparing corporation tax and VAT returns, and calculating deferred tax
• Maintaining and updating the financial control procedure documents
• Acting as reviewer/authoriser for accounts payable and banking payments
• Work with the Financial controller to identify upcoming changes to financial reporting standards, taxations requirements or other regulatory changes that impact the Financial control team
• Working on ad hoc projects

The ideal candidate for this role will be a newly qualified account with advanced numeracy and computer literacy skills. They will also be a very driven, highly motivated individual with an eye for detail. Having financial service audit experience is also desirable.
