Start your job searchThe Financial Accountant is responsible for internal and external reporting processes, technical support to the business, and business partner to the Finance and Legal teams.
The role reports directly to the Financial Controller and is part of a finance team of 25+ people.
Key duties as Group Financial Accountant:
- Manager of fixed asset accountant
- Complete the Group consolidation process for Management and Statutory Accounts
- Own the annual report financial information
- Own statutory accounts process for subsidiaries
- Act as a primary contact for external auditors for financial reporting
- Undertake a technical review of accounting standards and assess their impact on Group accounting policies and reporting
- Regularly review and revise the Group accounting policies and accounting manual
- Proactively review the Group financials to identify future issues
- Complete submissions to HMRC
- Work with Tax and treasury team to ensure that subsidiary accounts accurately reflect tax transactions and that these are subsequently reflected in SAP
- Business partner to finance, exec and legal cost centres, working with budget owners to forecast costs, and report on performance against forecast monthly
- Technical business partner to M&A team and Strategy team, ensuring appropriate accounting advice given for any transactions into Group e.g. acquisitions and subsequent inclusion in group consolidation
To be considered for the role of Group Financial Accountant, candidates must be/have:
- ACA or ACCA qualified
- Technically astute and intellectually curious
- Good knowledge of IFRS and new UK GAAP
- Ability to challenge and drive through change
- Experience of group consolidations
Package on offer for the role of Group Financial Accountant:
