Financial Accountant - projects team

The business are currently implementing a new system and this role will play a pivotal part in the reviewing, balancing, testing and reporting functionality of the implementation.

The role

• Perform VAT return testing alongside the tax rules for each transaction and location
• Test general journal workflows for general ledger entry - ensuring security roles are functioning
• Create 2 sets of books - a cash set to assist with cashflow forecasting and an accrual set of books for statutory accounts purposes
• Work with partner "payroll" team to implement partner accounting module from partner payment through to partner statements
• Work with Management Accountant to ensure Management accounts set of "books" are accurate and perform reconciliation between management and statutory accounts
• Ensure the required data/reporting is available for the Financial Control and Tax teams, working with them to convert existing schedules to new systems
• Check detailed posting from transaction through to TB for all postings
• Check multi currency functionality and conversions to TB
• Re-perform statutory accounts and balance sheet reconciliations inc FX revaluations for the business in multiple currencies and ensure they can provide required audit evidence
• Ensure working and postings are correct - through to payment of the intercompany balances
• Training finance users on the new system in relation to GL and transactional reporting etc.
• Work with Financial Control to provide the supporting audit evidence in relation to the new system and associated controls (this will follow "go - live")

Experience

• Qualified Accountant (ACA / CIMA / ACCA)
• Experience working in a finance function - with strong technical knowldge
• A good communicator happy to work across multiple different teams (both finance and non-finance) to ensure project is delivered successfully
• Strong analytical skills
• Experience working on different projects would be advantageous
• Excellent Excel skills and knowledge of different finance systems
