The role of Financial Analyst is an exciting chance for someone with Management Accountant experience to take that next step, or an existing Financial Analyst to find a business with excellent progression and development paths to choose.
Key responsibilities
- To support the Finance Business Partner in the development and rollout of business partnering across the group.
- Assist with consolidated group reporting with meaningful commentary with a strong operational focus
- Develop strong relationships with Care Home managers
- Support the management of commercial risks from a finance and wider business perspective
- Assist in the building of business cases to support operational investment decision making
Business partnering
- Highly effective business partnering and stakeholder management with key profit centre owners to drive accountability, profitability and cost ownership
- Support improved profitability in Care Homes through meaningful management information and insight
- Attend Operational management meetings to present financial results, as required
- Assess and challenge the performance of the profit centre managers
- Proactively identify, track and manage business risks & opportunities from a finance perspective
Management reporting
- Maintain coherent rolling forecast and consolidated actuals reporting models which are dynamic and best in class
- Lead the thorough interrogation of actual results versus planned performance
- Lead and have a hands on approach to analysis and accounting where required
Facts and figures relating to the job
Working closely with c.40 homes
Budgets & Rolling forecasts
- Build robust business planning, actuals, budgeting and rolling forecast processes in collaboration with the Finance Business Partner, and Non-Financial managers
- Deliver timely and accurate dynamic rolling forecasts while setting targets for operations managers
Non-Financial people training
- Train and support Non-Financial people to understand financial analysis in support of the business partnering approach
Key challenges
- Mentoring Care Home managers to manage their financial results
- Travel to attended Care Homes to attend meetings and understand the dynamic of the operational delivery
Key measures
- Balanced Scorecard metrics, including EBITDA and Working capital
Person specification
- Newly or Part Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) (preferred)
- Minimum 2 years management accounting experience
- Excellent Stakeholder management skills
- Previous experience in the Care Homes sector (desirable)
- Strong Excel modelling skills (advanced skills)
- Strong attention to detail, with good analytical and investigative skills
Pro-active and ability to work effectively on their own initiative
