A small (fantastic) Family office boasts an impressive portfolio consisting of private equity and real estate investments. They are a business focussed on wealth creation as well as wealth preservation. They are always looking to invest in building new companies, ideas and concepts in the UK and the rest of the world. Due to growth, they are looking for hire a hands-on Financial Controller with proven experience of running a corporate accounting finance function.
The role reports directly into the FD where you will be managing a small team responsible for the day to day accounting, financial control, statutory and management reporting, and tax compliance of the family office.
The family has interests globally, and therefore the family office is multi-jurisdiction, multi-entity (circa 100), multi-currency group environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ownership of all accounting matters for c100 entities/investment vehicles, with the support from a small finance team
- Establish and implement strong financial controls and audit procedures and files, ensuring high levels of accuracy are maintained
- Drive and enforce monthly compliance and controls
- Process improvement and development of reporting
- Prepare accurate, timely and effective management reporting
- Cash management including the production of cash flow forecasts
- Statutory accounting for Trusts, UK/Oversea Companies
- Responsible for tax filings, Property Taxes, Vat, Corporation Tax,
- Company Secretarial for several small UK companies
- Responsible for the accounting related to the:
- Treasury and FX for the group
- Intercompany loans
- Investments
- Group consolidations
- The accounting will be on Sage Line 200, and you will be used to use/develop the system to the full extent in terms of reporting and analysis
- Building and maintain strong working relationships internal and external
The candidate
- An ACA/ACCA/ACMA qualified accountant with proven financial control experience in a multi-entity, multi-jurisdictional, multi-currency group environment ideally gained in a small to mid-size investment firm
- Strong track record in accounting, reporting and financial controls,
- A positive, 'hands-on attitude demonstrating adaptability, flexibility and initiative
- A strong communicator both verbally and written
- Experience using Sage 200 is highly desirable
- Proven team player with leadership skills including the ability to manage, coach and energise others.
