I am currently working with a start-up, boutique investment house, based in Mayfair, who are in the midst of a period of rapid expansion and as such are looking for a fund accountant/controller to join their small, entrepreneurial team in this newly created role.

The firm invest across private equity and debt and have been growing and investing continuously since their inception. They are very much still a start up and are currently in the midst of fund raising for their second fund so as you can imagine this role will see you taking on a real variety of different tasks and really getting involved in the heart of the business.

Day to day you will be not only looking at the accounting for the fund but also taking on some of the financial controller responsibilities on the corporate side giving you great breadth of different experience. The boutique and start up nature of the firm means that you will have the opportunity to really get involved in the investment side of things as well, allowing you to assist and work with the deal team as they expand the investment portfolio.

The ideal candidate would be someone who is a recently qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/ACMA or equivalent) with experience working within financial services, either whilst in practice or within industry. For them, personality and team fit is the most important factor, they are looking for someone hard working and entrepreneurial but also outgoing and personable and who can fit in with this small and close knit team.
