Job Title: Head of Finance

Department: Finance (& Senior Management Team)

Reporting line: Managing Director (with dotted line to Group)

PURPOSE OF ROLE:


The Head of Finance supervises all financial tasks of the company and is a member of the senior leadership team.

To be successful in this role, you should be able to mentor and lead the local finance team but also form a strong working relationship with other stakeholders and contribute to commercial decision making. Ultimately, the role is responsible for not only maintaining and reporting the financial position but increasing the profitability of an ambitious business at a crucial juncture of its growth plans.

TATG is a part of the Kinlay portfolio of companies and the Head of Finance will be expected to attend TATG board meetings.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accountable for timely publication of monthly management accounts including a cash flow and balance sheet.
  • Supervise and manage accounting staff.
  • Drive the annual budget process and forecasting
  • Cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
  • Financial, KPI and board reporting, co-production of board pack.
  • Work with group to ensure timely and well-run audit and tax reporting.
  • Deliver value-add to the commercial decision making of the business - reporting, profit analysis, investment appraisal, data analysis and interpretation
  • Key contributor to financial and business systems and process improvement programmes.

KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Chartered accountant with appropriate financial/statutory accounting skills
  • Demonstrable commercial awareness
  • Proficient in accountancy software
  • Good fit to company values and culture (open plan office)
  • Logic, creativity and imagination
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Wider IT/systems skills are a value-add to this role.
  • Ability to communicate clearly at a senior level

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Chartered accountant with previous management/leadership experience
  • Understanding of cash flow reporting and working capital management.
  • Hands-on experience of budget/forecast modelling
  • Commercial experience with an innovative approach
  • Experience of working in an SME desirable
