Information Security Officer - up to £105k

A global banking giant is looking to hire an Information Security Officer to be based out of its prestigious offices in Canary Wharf.

The main remit of the role will be to manage the information security program across the European branch of the organisation (including the UK) and for maintaining heightened awareness for cyber security, information security as well as local and global computer controls and governance.

Responsibilities

• Leading the technology risk and information security functions for the Europe Branch
• Assessing, enhancing and driving improvements within the controls supporting protection of the organisation's information (confidentiality, integrity and availability)
• Manage the allocation of the Information Security program budget locally
• Monitoring, identifying and assessing risks of technology services in Europe
• Leading activities to sustain and improve compliance with internal information security policies and external regulatory requirements for Technology Risk Management & Information Security
• Building security awareness of staff through delivery of communication and training programs
• Providing business support and leadership on security administration services (such as user access management and unstructured data management) applicable to the local branch
• Supporting business to ensure support good governance over Technology Risks and Information Security.

Skills & Qualifications

• Applied Knowledge of IT Risk, and Information Security processes, concepts, and industry standards (e.g. COBIT, ITIL, ISO, PCI, Data Protection / Privacy).
• In-depth knowledge of Global Banking industry and underlying Technology environment (e.g. off-shoring, Hub support / service model).
• Member of (and possibly certified) an information security organization with good standing (e.g. SIFMA, ISACA, CISA, CISSP, CISM, CRISC)
• Information security certification such as SIFMA, ISACA, CISA, CISSP, CISM or CRISC
• In-depth knowledge of current & emerging regulatory requirements impacting Technology & Information Security
• Seasoned understanding of Operational risk and Compliance Framework principles and practices.
• Experience with enterprise level Information Security tools, solutions and services (i.e. Identity & Access Management, Data Leakage Prevention, Security Event & Incident Monitoring, and Information Risk Assessments)
• Sound knowledge of Global Banking industry (products, services and business practice).
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) including proven experience presenting to senior stakeholders.
• Proven ability to influence and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience managing & supporting initiatives to successful completion.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills to develop acceptable solutions for the business.
• Developed knowledge of Regulatory Compliance obligations for the EUROPE Branch.
