Delighted to be the exclusive partner to a leading energy provider for the recruitment of an Interim Finance Integration Lead. The business was established in 2014 as the platform for expanding the parent company into the UK Energy Market. They have grown rapidly in the UK having acquired 3 power generating assets between 2014 and 2017 and has recently agreed the acquisition of a further 2 assets in Ireland, with completion expected in the summer 2019.

It has a trading office and business development office in London and a centralised support office in Leeds. The parent company is an operations-orientated investor with a strong background in pursuing growth opportunities across the energy sector. With more than 50 companies across 6 countries, and 25,000 employees, they have established a solid track record of continued organic and acquisitive growth.

Due to the large acquisition in Ireland, they are hiring this position to work within and lead the integrations team on a 6 month interim basis. The role will work closely with the Head of Finance, integration team and the SLT in delivering the successful acquisition and integration of current and future assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating and managing a finance integration plan from completion through to separation (3 month timeframe). This is to include:
    • Accounting processes and operational accounting
    • Month end close
    • Monthly reporting
    • Budgeting and forecasting
    • Tax
  • Liaising with the sellers finance team to understand current processes and procedures.
  • Development of processes and procedures that work for the standalone entities.
  • Document process flows.
  • Work with acquired businesses to embed new finance function.
  • Work closely with the other integration teams, particularly IT for the SAP separation.
  • Manage a team of 4 interim accountants
  • Manage the transition from the interim integration team to the permanent finance team.

The post holder should be a qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualified). It is imperative that you are comfortable working in a fast paced, ever changing and transformative business on a large scale.
