Overview

The purpose of this role is to assist with the management of Applications to deliver operational support and application governance within agreed SLA's. This role assists in ensuring quality principles and quality processes are included in the design and development of software deployment and IT support processes from a 3rd line perspective.

Responsibilities

  • Within this role you will assume responsibility for ensuring that Applications and their sub departments patching, support, comms and operation checks are conducted efficiently and effectively across the entire business applications team portfolio.
  • This role will also have operational and line management responsibility for two areas of the Business Applications team;
    • Enterprise systems, covering key business applications of HR, Finance and Client systems on the PeopleSoft platform.
    • Online Services, covering services such as O365, SharePoint and Intune.

Requirements

  • Good understanding of ITIL tools and processes.
  • Proven project management skills with established knowledge of supporting governance and methodologies
  • Motivated to establish and eradicate the root cause, not treat symptoms.
  • A broad knowledge of the development lifecycle
  • Proven technical knowledge on evaluating/initiating appropriate technological solutions to meet operational needs.
  • Keen interest in keeping abreast of current and emerging technology developments within the Application sector.
  • Knowledge and experience in general data security processes including disaster recovery and business continuity
  • Experience in IT industry with an in-depth knowledge of application support.
  • Technical knowledge of key IT applications and systems including:
    • Business Applications (APT Client, CCH, Alphatax, IPS, DMS Client)
    • Microsoft Office 2010/2016/365
    • SCCM 1709
    • Windows 7/10
    • SQL
    • Office 365
    • SharePoint
    • Experience with PeopleSoft Financials, PeopleSoft Human Resource, PeopleTools product set including PeopleCode, Application Designer, Component Interface and Workflow.

  • Experience of application management and application deployment
  • Leading on communications to teams across business function
