IT Solution Architect - Professional Services


A global professional services firm with a growing centralised architecture function is currently looking to hire an additional IT Solutions Architect on a permanent basis, initially based remotely and then partly in its London headquarters, subject to government guidelines.


The main remit of the role is to provide guidance, governance and design for strategic technology areas across the whole business.

Responsibilities

• Working alongside and guiding in-house and 3rd party development teams.
• Understand the company business drivers and business capabilities, determine corresponding enterprise system designs, and change requirements to drive the organisation's targeted business outcomes.
• Design and lead the implementation of a solutions architecture across a group of specific business applications and technologies based on enterprise business strategy, business capabilities and business requirements.
• Monitor the current-state solution portfolio to identify deficiencies
• Facilitate the evaluation and selection of software product standards and services, as well as the design of standard and custom software configurations.
• Ensure that agreed IT Governance standards and working practices are followed

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience of working as a Solution Architect or Senior Developer delivering successful migration/greenfield projects.
• A strong working background in software engineering with Microsoft ecosystems such as Azure, .net frameworks and full stack development
• Experience in designing and deploying Azure IaaS and PaaS solutions
• Familiar/understanding in two or more of the following: ARM templates, Terraform, PowerShell, Puppet, Chef, Ansible
• Familiar with CI/CD using Azure DevOps
• Proficient in designing, building and deploying application services at a complex level
• Experienced in component design/structure and design patterns.
