The primary functions of the team are to ensure control, unlock value, drive agility and fuel growth by partnering the functions of the business. Focus on value driving items as it is important that the risks are managed to reduce impact on the business. The finance team are ultimately responsible for delivering all key finance activities including credit control, invoice payment, filing of statutory accounts and all financial and management reporting.

Primary Responsibilities:

Controls

  • Assist in the development of financial controls
  • Provide input into process narratives for key business processes and internal testing

Reporting

  • Conducting monthly overhead review and variance analysis against forecast / budget
  • Providing input into overhead forecasting, understanding cost drivers
  • Manage bank reconciliations, review and produce short term cash forecasting
  • Responsible for reconciling E-commerce and trade Web sales / payments
  • Prepare timely and accurate EC Sales, VAT PSA returns
  • Balance sheet maintenance and reconciliations
  • Responsible for maintaining fixed asset register, additions, disposals and depreciation
  • Key Performance Indicator Reporting

Assisting with process improvements in finance department and across the business to improve / standardise processes and controls

Team Role Responsibilities (Professional):

  • Demonstrate active involvement in the implementation and improvement of relevant procedures
  • Follow relevant procedures to deliver quality products and services and identify and support the implementation of continuous improvement
  • Contribute ideas on systems and process methods to improve deliverables
  • Work safely, complying with all safety procedures, rules and instructions; and reporting workplace hazards, incidents or injuries to manager

Person Specification:

  • Part qualified (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or qualified by experience
  • Experience of VAT reporting and reconciliations required
  • Strong management accounting, variance analysis and management reporting experience
  • Advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables, look ups etc)
  • SAGE and payroll experience
