A global organisation in the retail space is looking to hire an MI / BI Analyst to be based in its prestigious London headquarters.
The main remit of the role will be to create reporting and analyse linked to the firm's retail and commerce activities as well as uphold data integrity and system maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Produce periodic reports in a timely and accurate manner. Review the catalogue of reports to ensure they remain pertinent
- Partner with the Commerce and Finance teams to understand business needs and pro-actively provide analytical support and recommendations to support those needs
- To interrogate data and reporting to provide action-oriented, contextual analysis and recommendations to the Commerce teams and Executive (up to CEO level)
- To work closely with Senior Commerce Analyst and Commerce BP&A team to establish strategic reporting structures for the Business
- To design and implement new reporting and tools
- To support business initiatives by developing aligned reporting and processes
- To review, analyse and enhance current systems in line with the needs of the business
- Work closely with the Commerce BP&A team, Finance & Strategy, Commerce, Management and all levels of the Business to understand their reporting needs and data integrity issues
- To communicate with and ensure that internal departments are up to date and informed of system developments and new business initiatives.
- Support commercial teams with team/one-to-one training to make sure tools and reporting are most effectively used.
- Act as an evangelist to sure ensure maximum adoption of Commerce BP&A methods, tools and processes.
- To present relevant contextual analysis and communicate the interpretation of the results - to CEO level
- Take feedback and identify and new initiatives or updates can be used to enhance our reporting suite
Skills and Qualifications
- High level of analytical skills are essential to deal with large volumes of data available.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- A high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience of working in the Retail sector would be useful but not essential
- Knowledge and proven experience in the use of statistical techniques i.e.) Six Sigma methodologies.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft office, with particular reference to MS PowerPoint, Visio and Word
- Advanced MS Access and Excel skills (Incl VBA)
- Strong technical understanding of database design including data manipulation through SQL
- Experience of using reporting tools to collate MI
- Experience of data warehouse structure and access from use of Hyperion or similar i.e.) Business objects.
- Experience of Tableau would be an advantage but not essential
