A well known, Mayfair based, private equity firm is looking to hire a recently qualified ACA (straight from practice or industry) as a Financial Controller, reporting into their CFO.

This is a fantastic opportunity for any recently qualified ACA from either within or outside of the Big 4 to make the jump into an exciting and rewarding industry in a broad and challenging accounting role.

The firm is one of the most prestigious private equity firms but also one of the most progressive; they fully endorse flexibility and the work life balance within the team is great; typical hours are 9am to 5.30pm. They have around 150 staff and as such it has a family feel whilst also being high performing and very professional.

The finance team is currently 6 strong and this will report directly into the Cheif Financial Officerand take full ownership of financial control and accounting of several of their international entities. The role will be an excellent first step for those looking to build upon their qualification outside of the industry.

Responsibilities include:

  • Responsibility for preparing and posting daily & monthly journal entries and thereby ensuring that the books and records of the relevant entities are up to date and accurate at all times: Entities in scope are the UK, Spanish, Hong Kong and Australian operating entities
  • Assist in preparation of the quarterly VAT returns for UK, Spanish and Australian entities, understanding the workings and review with external tax advisors
  • Responsibility for ensuring full understanding and review of legal entities, preparing trend analysis and monthly commentary on the entities' activities
  • Assisting in preparation of the annual financial statements and dealing with the various stakeholders involved in the annual and interim audits
  • US GAAP for quarterly and annual reporting
  • Preparation of data and information for US and local tax filings
  • Liaison with the Payroll Department for the payrolls on the various entities, responsibility for compensation postings, dividend distributions and vesting events for a number of legal entities
  • Monthly management reporting including but not limited to cash flows and expense analysis
  • Extensive liaison with the deal teams and colleagues in the London/NY Finance team to prepare forecasts and ad-hoc management reports.

This role will enable you to hone your skills in such a way that your options with regards to future roles and industries will always be kept open. It's a fantastic opportunity for any ACA to explore.
