Operational Services Cyber Security Director - up to £950 per day

A global technology organisation is looking to hire a Cybersecurity Director for an initial 3-6 month contract based in either London or Rugby (the candidate will be able to choose).

The main remit of the role will be to lead, build and achieve the organisation's operational Cybersecurity capability. The role requires influence and interaction with all key stakeholders at all levels within the Services and wider organisation.

The successful candidate will also be expected to manage aspects of Government Accreditation of the organisation's services through provision of necessary assurance and accreditation.

The role will require the development of a wide understanding of the services that the company provides and contractual requirements that they need to meet.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • The Senior Cyber Security Director's key stakeholder relationships will be with: UK Government Security bodies, customer security teams and organisation global security practices.
  • Will be managing a team of security professionals.
  • Leads and develops the Security Mangers and their teams
  • Lead the cybersecurity risk management program for the business
  • Partners closely with global and regional leadership teams to identify and improve overall operational network security and services
  • Provides leadership to understand, collaborate and influence across the organizations.
  • Implements organizational policies and procedures to mitigate risk to employees and assets
  • Lead the cybersecurity risk management program collaborating with cross functional partners to anticipate, identify and evaluate risks to customer service and the overall enterprise
  • Defines and manages the global performance metrics to determine the effectiveness of the department
  • Manage all aspects of Government Accreditation of services through provision of necessary assurance to the Home Office Service security lead.
  • Managing the risks/actions identified in the audits and relevant working groups and make sure we meet the appropriate ISO and other security standards.

Skills & Qualifications

  • CISSP, or equivalent industry certification
  • Proven track record of leading security teams or mission critical operations teams at a large organisation.
  • A proven track record in negotiating complex agreements to security issues with senior government security representatives and technical bodies such as NCSC would be beneficial.
  • Understanding of and experience with modern network security practices and solutions (eg. Threat Modelling, selection of appropriate technical controls and supporting security operations)
  • Experience in root cause analysis, industry benchmarking, survey evaluation and data interpretation
  • Experience with security technologies including Video Surveillance, Access Control, Incident Management Systems and Security Operations Centre
  • Possesses knowledge in the areas of emergency/disaster management, physical security, critical incident stress management, risk management and business resiliency
