Remote working opportunity for an experienced Accounting Advisory or Policy specialist to join a large Insurance group in the UK working with the business to provide technical accounting advice on various issues and be able to solve complex accounting problems.

This group has undergone a lot of change and their London office has moved to remote working, only requiring you to come in every couple of weeks or so to meet the team and collaborate on ideas (only when lockdown sanctions have been lifted) - giving someone a great opportunity to work a "London" role.

You will be interacting very regularly with the Group FC, Head of FP&A, Head of Client Money, Head of Tax, and other senior stakeholders and will be go-to person for all their queries.

You will be working with alongside another Senior Technical Accounting Manager, supported by a large Financial Reporting team based just outside London, while reporting to the Group Head of Technical Accounting.

You will need to provide accounting advice on various areas including:

• Acquisitions and Disposals
• IFRS9 financial instruments
• Hedge Accounting
• Lease Accounting
• Share Based Payments
• Goodwill Impairments
• Project working including moving their subsidiaries from FRS102 to FRS101
• Updating the accounting policy manual where required

Your Requirements

• Big 4 trained Chartered Accountant (essential)
• Strong experience working in an Accounting Advisory or Policy role in Big 4 (essential)
• Industry experience as a Technical Accountant will be beneficial
• Track record of being able to solve complex accounting issues
• Excellent written and communication skills
