A large Asset Manager consists of a number of businesses which provide products and services in the Financial Services arena. The Asset Manager has a number of OEICs and Unit Trust and discretionary management portfolios with Assets Under Management in the billions.
Propose
To carry out the monitoring and control of the Risk Framework which has been implemented.
Team aim
- Help the business monitor and identify risk
- Make sure that the mandates and policies which investors have signed for are implimented and monitored
- To evangelise the Risk policy within the organisation in order to educate the employees of the Risk Management Framework
- Identify good and bad practice providing feedback on failures of controls and provide remedies and improvements where appropriate.
Responsibilities
- Monitor for breaches to the risk criteria and provide analysis on the root cause
- Keep up to date Fund data spread sheets
- Inspect fund portfolios in order to keep in line with regulation, policies and internal limits
- Provide Management Information reports for the Board and risk Committee
- Update and maintain the companies risk policies and procedures
Skills Required
- Proficient in MS Excel, and Office
- Problem solver and can work under own initiative
- Strong analytic skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritise
Experience and Qualifications
- Degree qualified with 2 years' experience
- IOC qualification a plus
