This is a fantastic opportunity for a Qualified Accountant with BIG4/Top10 experience interested in engaging with an 18 month contract based in Cork, Ireland. The successful candidate will join an international team reporting at Director level and responsible for the successful operation of the Record to Report (RTR) function in an International Shared Service Center located in Cork.

Duties will include:

• The development of strong relationships with key stakeholders, in particular with market finance teams across EMEA, APAC and US. Ability to quickly establish credibility with and influence diverse audiences.
• Provide guidance and direction to the RTR and Finance teams in market
• Oversight and review of statutory accounts and VAT preparation and filing processes for entities within remit
• Coordination of Balance Sheet Reviews with the EMEA Controller and Market Finance Leads for all International Markets
• Review of tax calculations (VAT, Corporation tax) and oversight of related filings
• Maintains ledger integrity and ensures financial compliance with the worldwide Controller's manual and to all applicable laws and regulations
• Reviews and approves relevant Journals and account reconciliations for the markets within their responsibility
• Responsibility for Accounting SOX Compliance and controls for all markets within the shared services centre

The successful candidate will have:

• 8+ years of relevant experience and Finance/Business degree or MBA
• Qualified Accountant- Big 4 Accountancy background is a distinct advantage
• People management experience
• Proven accounting principles and practices, knowledge of US GAAP.
• In-depth knowledge of local statutory and tax reporting requirements
• Detailed knowledge and experience of SOX Compliance
• A champion for the Shared Services philosophy and architecture for Finance
• Project Management skills and experience desirable
