The business operates from a large site based just outside of North Yorkshire and operates in 3 main core activities focusing on sustainable and renewable energy sources.

They are a vital strategic asset nationally and also to the local economy, employing over 600 people at the site.

The Role

This newly created role will have responsibility for providing strategic and operational business partnering to Operational areas of the business. Partnering with senior managers, the Senior Finance Business Partner will help to challenge and deliver the objectives for the department, whilst ensuring the financial robustness of their results and reporting.

Responsibilities will include;

• Support the Operations Director in the development and delivery of the short, medium and long-term strategy for the Operations department, providing key financial analysis, reports and information
• Actively contribute suggestions to the development of strategic and tactical plans as a member of the Operations leadership team
• Constructively challenge the decisions being made within the Operations department to ensure value is being maximised
• Ensure financial forecasts are aligned with the current view within the department and actively kept up to date
• Identify opportunities and risks in relation to the department's financial objectives, and work on ways to exploit and mitigate these respectively
• Drive improvements in the systems and processes used to report and analyse financial performance within the department
• Lead on the financial appraisal of significant capital projects, operational spend and headcount changes, challenging these areas to ensure value is being maximised and that they all contribute to achieving the overall goals of the department
• Drive the development of the other 2 Finance Business Partners ensuring that the team is performing highly and adding value to their home department

The Person

You must be a Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) and have worked in a Finance Business Partnering position previously with demonstrable experience of challenging and influencing senior stakeholders.

Ideally you will have worked in a large business partnering with site leadership teams.
