Start your job searchMarks Sattin are working with a business in Sheffield who are expanding their finance team and are looking to appoint a Financial Accountant to sit within their exceptional team. This is an extremely fast-paced business with a high performing finance team so you will be able to work well under the pressure of tight deadlines and plan your workload autonomously
Duties include:
- Review the gross margins and control month end journals relating to revenue and stock.
- Ensure all revenue journals are completed, including returns, and reporting of revenues on a monthly basis to Financial Controller.
- Analyse margins vs budget. Provide and communicate results of this analysis to the Financial Controller and wider stakeholders in the business. Prepare ad hoc analysis relating to gross margins when required.
- Compile analysis and calculations for areas of estimation around stock.
- Review workings and journals prepared by assistants
- Ensure appropriate accounting treatment is applied for any ad hoc projects. This will include working with the IT team to set up new processes and reports.
- Work closely with Inventory teams across all regions, providing support where required.
- Continuously seek to make improvements and efficiencies in processes.
- Assist in ad hoc projects as required by UK Financial Accounting Manager & Head of Financial Accounting.
- Assist with internal and external audit requests.
- Work with the Senior Management in the business to assist with various projects.
The Person:
- Fully Qualified ACCA/ACA
- Strong grasp of accounting concepts and willingness to learn
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build good relationships with financial and operational management across the business
- Ability to be flexible in a changing environment and work to strict deadlines
- Excellent eye for detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work hard as part of a growing team
- Proactive and able to show initiative to constantly improve finance processes
- Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects with competing demands at the same time
- Confident in using Excel
