Senior Management Accountant

One of the leading international corporate and commercial law firms in London is currently looking for a Senior Management Accountant to join their finance function in London.

This role will be suitable for a hands-on finance professional and you will be working closely with the Director of Finance & Administration and be expected to understand the operations and finance function within London.

Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years' management accounts experience, ideally within the legal sector. You will effectively be the FD's "Number Two".

This role is incredibly progressive and will suit candidates who are ambitious, proactive and thrive on responsibility.

The role is really varied and will be divided as follow:

Management Accounting

• Creation of core monthly financial reporting pack for the London office
• Creation of monthly snapshot reporting for the Regional Managing Partners
• Generate content and analysis for partner and management meetings using PowerPoint and visual aids as required
• Extensive Partner liaison, dealing with enquiries regarding management information
• Report on client and practice revenues as required
• Perform and oversee balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries as required

Tax

• Performance of the quarterly VAT return process including general ledger reconciliations, filings, payments, EU sales reporting, intercompany billing etc
• Providing firm accountants with information to allow the timely and accurate preparation of the Partnership Tax return

Budgeting, Variance Analysis & Forecasting

• Drive the annual budget process with functional heads in the London office

• Communicate with New York office to ensure business cases for budget changes are vetted and properly understood

• Provision of regular information to senior business service managers of current year actual vs budget spending

• Provide variance analysis explanations on a monthly basis
