Marks Sattin are currently working with a successful, growing company based in Ilkley to assist in the recruitment of a Senior Payroll Assistant. You will work among a small team in the Payroll department and will assist with the training and development of other members of staff where required. Ideally, the successful candidate will have previous experience using Sage Payroll, processing high volume weekly and monthly payroll and be confident with end-to-end payroll, involving processing BACs payments.

  • Processing high volumes of weekly and monthly payrolls
  • Accurate data entry
  • Calculating statutory payments i.e. sickness paye, paternity paye, maternity paye etc.
  • Ensure temporary and permanent employees are paid accurately and on time
  • Process all tax code amendments and deductions where necessary
  • Complete all statutory forms i.e. P45s, P46s, P60s, Student loans etc.
  • Assist in the completion of year end submissions
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports where necessary
  • Ensure queries are dealt with in a timely manner

The Person:

  • You must have end-to-end Payroll experience
  • Experience using Sage Payroll is desirable although not essential
  • Ability to process high volume payroll
  • Previous experience supporting other members of staff is beneficial
  • Maintain accuracy under pressure
