Senior Project Manager - Data, Reporting & Data Governance

A global business services firm is looking for a Senior Project Manager for an initial 6 month contract to be based out of its headquarters in west London.

The main remit of the role is to ensure that corporate data and reporting project within the Business Transformation programme is delivered efficiently in accordance with business transformation and the company's standards and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and direct design, implementation planning of multiple projects
  • Manage projects including timeline, budget, scope, stakeholders (up to C level relationships/expectations)
  • Facilitate requirements gathering, including review sessions, and assist with the creation of project deliverables, as needed
  • Adopt a standardized development lifecycle methodology for all projects and use of MS Project Online for planning, tracking and reporting projects
  • Create and manage project plans and assist with the tracking, documentation, issue management and status updates for the project
  • Manage inter-dependencies between projects
  • Manage the analysis, design, build, test, and implementation of enterprise level solution(s)
  • Manage testing (QA, UAT, etc) including coordination and signoffs
  • Manage suppliers
  • To develop full business case for corporate data & reporting project including costs, timelines and delivery plan
    • Lead gap analysis (by capabilities for processes, systems, data)
    • Facilitate requirements gathering to document and prioritise
      • Business requirements, and
      • High level business process maps
    • Agree and document high level implementation approach, change management approach (includes business readiness for change), and project roadmap
    • Candidate product sourcing approach and selection recommendations

Skills / Experience

  • Programme management experience
  • Formal project management certification (PMP/Prince2 or similar)
  • Experience implementing enterprise-scale data programmes and projects
  • Demonstrated project leadership skills, with direct responsibility for managing project teams, budget and schedule
  • Demonstrated project management skills with teams of up to 10+ people
  • Demonstrated history of delivering high quality results on schedule and within budget
  • Experience with Agile and Waterfall implementation methodologies
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal. Able to effectively develop materials that are appropriate for the audience
  • Strong presentation skills. Able to effectively present and defend point of view to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to weigh business and technical requirements to produce project plans and estimates

Desirable Skills/Experience

  • Experience in delivering global data projects to resolve issues around data governance, data management, master data management, data warehousing, BI and ETL
  • Familiarity with data and information vendor market
  • Knowledge of data compliance requirements
  • Keen ability to quickly connect business requirements with the functional capabilities of the application
  • Expert in the assessment of business objectives, formulating solution options, and driving stakeholder support
  • Solid experience leading projects and application solution design efforts
  • Extensive experience contributing as a direct resource, and managing others on enterprise software deployments
